Get to Know Moderator Nominee the Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne
The Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne, nominated by Pacific Mountain Regional Council, is The United Church of Canada’s sole Moderator nominee. The election of Moderator will be held on the afternoon of July 23 in the GC44 Decision Sessions.
Carmen is a member of the Heiltsuk First Nation and a lifelong member of The United Church of Canada. She has worked in the church and beyond, representing the United Church at the World Council of Churches and as a member of the General Council Executive. She currently serves as the executive director of First United Church Community Ministry Society. First United has released a statement of congratulations and succession.
