Introducing Cross-Country Check-In

General Council’s annual meeting is October 19. Soon after, on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. ET, join the General Secretary, Rev. Michael Blair, and members of the General Council Executive (GCE) online for an informal, thoughtful national town hall.

Everyone is welcome to join what we’re calling a “cross-country check-in.”

As the United Church enters into its 100th year, history and time are on our side. It’s never too late to do better. In this session facilitated by Treena Duncan, Executive Minister for Pacific Mountain Regional Council, members of the GCE can listen deeply to the church across the nation.

There are a lot of things happening in the church that you may have questions about -- General Council meeting, General Council 45 next year, or maybe how GCE works together.

You can also put faces to names.

We want it to be worth your time. Whatever happens in this meeting will enrich the work of the GCE as it prepares for the November GCE meetings and beyond.

Mark Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. ET on your calendar, and watch here for updates and more information. Register on CHURCHx.

The General Council Executive is the decision-making body for the United Church between meetings of the General Council. It meets four times a year, and then a fifth time every October with the General Council’s annual meeting.
