We Are Not Alone: Ecumenical and Global Partners Join GC44

A strong delegation of global and ecumenical partners will join in the virtual proceedings of General Council 44 over the next months. They will bring critical partner perspectives to inform the decisions about the church’s life and work ahead. The partner delegation, close to 30 in all, spans over 10 countries.

These representatives “are a reminder and reaffirmation of the United Church’s commitment to partnership and accompaniment in ‘such a time as this,’” says the Rev. Michael Blair, General Secretary.

As well as the six members of the ongoing Partner Council, other partners reflect relationships with full communion, mutual recognition, and migrant church partners as well as ecumenical and interfaith guests. Blair adds that “the presence of partners links us to churches, faiths, and movements around the world that bring insight, nurture, and challenge to our deliberations.”
